The 4th book in the West Country Modern series is a direct return to the celebration of man-made interventions in the rural idyll. Echoing the vivid colour covers + monochrome photography of Farm Follows Function & Coastal Brutalism the book includes 24 roadscapes. It is introduced with an essay by writer Mark Hooper and is designed by Sam Blunden.

Jethro Marshall’s images document both the major thoroughfares of infamous A roads and the anonymity of rural lanes. Free of traffic and human presence they take on sculptural qualities, sometimes winning sometimes losing their battle with the landscape that they dissect.
